The CakeHole Show with Rima Staines
Tuesday Sep 06, 2022
Tuesday Sep 06, 2022
The first interview of the season with Rima Staines. Rima is living proof that life is what you make it. Rima, a multi-disciplinary artist talks about her work as a publisher, her paintings, music, theatre she has made and the puppets lurking in her heart. She placed in my hand a small book of postcards depicting her glorious paintings. She has a following across the world and I am not surprised. To be honest, it was less of an interview and more of a happening. I feel completely awe struck by this person; her gifts, so gently described, her passion, so fully revealed, her kindness and above all her beauty. Everything about her implores attention, the world needs to know Rima Staines. I stepped into another world the day I met Rima Staines. https://www.rimastaines.com

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to step on stage in the West End, 'London Coliseum', in Dame Vanessa Redgrave's wig??? Heather Jackson regales us with wonderful theatre stories today on CakeHole Show. Prior to her interview we listen to "Entrapment" a new monologue I've written recently performed by Heather, music by Martin Seager, SHE STOLE THE SHOW! That old adage of if you need something doing ask a busy person comes true, Heather did a tremendous job. Annie Bowie is interviewed in fine style by Sarah Louise Connolly, all the secrets of her success fully told. Love it. Finally, The Ashburton Arts Centre, aka Andy Williamson have been mischief making again!!! An engaging festival with a visiting 'String Quartet' of utter brilliance. Martin Seager comes on the programme describing some of the magical highlights including Andy Williamson's sublime sax renditions. We showcase little snippets of the programme including Martin's debut piece being played 'sight-read' by this astonishing quartet. All in one show. It was a banger!!! See you again in September 2022 ----
